Sunderland head into this game desperately looking for points to help drag themselves away from the relegation zone with time and winnable games running out. Last weeks improved performance against Stoke wasn’t enough as other results meant Sunderland slipped into the bottom three. Fortunes couldn’t be more different for opponents Southampton who are chasing European football after an incredible season.
