It's canny to see some positive comments again as Sunderland win! Only one player failed to get above the average rating of 6, let's look at the top two and bottom player performances decided by our readers' votes.

Man of the Match: Luke O'Nien - 7.8

What is there not to love about this lad? We should probably refer to right back as his position for the rest of the season, even if he leaps out as our best option in the middle of the pitch. O'Nien won both penalties and rightly earns the Man of the Match award from our readers. Here are a few of the comments on his performance;

Brilliant lad, good personality on and off the pitch! Loved the wedgey he gave a gillingham player - Anonymous

Great going forwards and not shy to put a tackle in. - BFK

Yet another accomplished MOM from O9 , fully gets what the clubs about and offers more options each time he plays , still believe he is the answer to our ACM problem - Agent Ashleys Bank Account

Second place: Lee Cattermole - 7.6

I must admit I was sceptical seeing his name in the side, as I normally am, but he looked great alongside Grant Leadbitter, are we seeing the beginnings of a wonderful partnership? You couldn't pick two blokes more committed to the cause. He scored, all was great and the some of the comments suggested he deserved man of the match;

MOM..looked like he's never been out the side. Commanding in midfield and started the ball rolling with the 1st goal. - Wayne Doran

It's good to have mr marmite back, like it or not the team look more confident when he's in it. My MOM - Anonymous

Worked hard and great to see him score a goal - Scotty

Last place: Jimmy Dunne - 5.4

Even when winning there is always a player who stands out as the worst performing. As we conceded two, it's no surprise seeing one of the centre backs getting a bit of stick and Dunne hasn't convinced many since his January signing.

Surely Baldwin, Ozturk or even Loovens can do a better job than this performance - Johnny

Strange signing - Staffan

Terrible positioning for a defender. Lets his forward get goal side of him every time - Anonymous

The Rest

Grant Leadbitter (7.3), Aiden McGeady (7.3), Will Grigg (6.8), Jon McLaughlin (6.5), Reece James (6.5), Tom Flaagan (6.4), Chris Maguire (6.2), George Honeyman (6.2).
