It's been a fair few months since I've looked forward to a game at the Stadium of Light.
Six points from safety. Six points dropped. Six thousand reasons to dislike Lee Camp and the fact that Chris Coleman has a love affair with his ineptness. Time to rate the players.
It's almost like they don't want to relegate us. Sunderland's stars were threatening to align as all five of our closest relegation rivals - all the way up to Reading, lost. Far less surprising than that - we conceded a set piece to throw away two points.
Paddy McNair's fantastic opener wasn't enough to give Sunderland a much needed three points. Other results meant that a win might have dragged Sunderland back into the relegation battle - but it wasn't to be.
Overall it was probably a good performance, subjectively, for a Sunderland side. Defensively we were let down again and perhaps the likes of Aiden McGeady and Bryan Oviedo failed to provide that final piece of quality in the final third. Time to rate the players!
Can you believe it??? A glorious day made up of stuff that nobody in their right mind would expect to happen. We scored four. John O'Shea scored. Perhaps more miraculously - Ashley Fletcher scored a cracker. What's ganin on?! We haven't got a clue, but time for you to rate the players anyway!
Quite fitting that on the metaphorically coldest day at the Stadium of Light in it's history, I freeze alongside all the other maniacs who think it's a good idea to waste one of the few days off we get in this working world watching this bunch of w**kers.
Once again, despite how dire things are, you helped us out by rating just how bad the players were yesterday. Thanks - here are the results.
Ruiter...Camp...Steele...does it really matter who plays anymore? Each one has been responsible for vital points dropped this campaign, points which would probably see us out of the bottom three.
There was nothing midweek to suggest that Chris Coleman got his team selection on the money, with the winger experiment flopping harder than Ashley Fletcher in a 1v1.
