Former Everton midfielder Li Tie flies in as Sunderland takeover talks reach imminent conclusion with Chinese consortium

Earlier this morning WAW exclusively revealed via social media that the club's take over saga is near completion. More details below on this morning's explosive news.

Our source close to the club described the take over as the "imminent". Former Everton midfielder Li Tie - who has been doing his coaching badges in the suburbs of the ghost city Ordos - checked onto a flight from Beijing straight into Sunderland airport and is expected to land at 11:59am. You can monitor his flight progress via our Peruzzi tracker by clicking here. He is touted as Chris Coleman's immediate replacement.

After transforming Chinese League One side Wuhan Zall, who up to now looked certain for promotion this season, a close friend of Li Tie gave us the low down on his managerial prowess;

"He combines the best qualities of Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex and Jose Mourinho as some kind of super-coach. The world has never witnessed such a remarkable football brain. Sunderland will win everything very soon."

WAW understands the managerial role will be retired by the new owners and Li Tie will be dubbed Sunderland Emperor on an indefinite contract. John O'Shea - fluent in Mandarin - will be his assistant.

It marks an historic day in Chinese sport as the consortium - said to consist of over six billionaires - have pledged in their takeover bid to spend 50 million this summer even if the Black Cats Red and White Dragons fall into League One.

I don't pretend to speak on behalf of all Sunderland supporters but to me this is the best thing to have happened to the club since Jozy signed. The glory days are on the horizon, it would be nice to stay up so we don't have to wait another year for it.

We at WAW always try to get the hot news as soon as possible and thank you in advance for all your kind words on today's exclusive.

Have a great Easter!
