With Rotherham, Wycombe, Portsmouth and Peterborough all winning yesterday, there was a lot of pressure on the Lads to come up with the goods against a Tranmere side battling for survival.

In truth it felt for long periods like a goal would never happen. The first half was slow and the home side had the better of the opportunities, including a fantastic save from Jon McLaughlin, denying Kane Wilson a spectacular freekick goal. Eventually Charlie Wyke nodded home at the near post 15 minutes into the second half, it was another dangerous set piece from Chris Maguire, whose contributions from dead ball situations has been phenominal as of late.

That is four clean sheets in a row. Canny. This one featured a debut for Bailey Wright at the expense of Alim Ozturk, who was not part of the squad at all presumably due to a knock.
