Player Ratings & Comments - Player stands tall again as Sunderland win massive three points
The Lads respond to the disastrous result against Plymouth by earning three points.
It would be fair to say the overall performance was unconvincing from Sunderland on face value, but let's not disrespect Shrewsbury too much. Since former SAFC assistant manager Stever Cotterill took over at the end of November last year, the Shrews were unbeaten in the league until today, conceding just five goals and winning four games by a goal to nil.
When you factor in Sunderland's abysmal home form I think we can say this result is a fantastic one in isolation. In the context of our season, we need to make sure it represents a good run of form to solidify ourselves as a playoff team with one eye on the top two spots. We can't afford many more results and performances like we saw in midweek.
As is customary after a league game on WAW, this is your chance to evaluate the player performances in the only interactive post-match feature for Sunderand fans. It's easy to take part, just scroll down and select a rating for each player. Once you do that, you'll notice a comments box pop up which you can use to tell us more about what you thought of that player. Your comments, and ratings, will feature in Connor's round up feature which you can see an example of here from the Plymouth game.
