Player Ratings & Comments - Wingers shine as Sunderland keep up the pace in crucial period

Lynden Gooch's goal on the stroke of half time felt like a pivotal moment in our season. In came on the back of a scrappy opening period during which Oxford score with their first shot courtesy of James Henry. Gooch's equaliser sparked a half-time tunnel brawl that we may hear more about in the coming days.

Jordan Jones was in fantastic form, setting up the equaliser with some sublime skill before rattling the crossbar with a thumping effort from outside the box mid-way through the second half. He was substituted before the deciding goal was scored by Aiden McGeady after excellent work from Gooch who had a great afternoon. Max Power put the icing on the cake in stoppage time, through one-v-one with the keeper after a neat ball from Charlie Wyke. His celebration earned him a yellow card, celebrating in front of the Oxford dugout. You love to see it.
