Sunderland Vs Hull City: Win, Lose or Draw?

by GMac88 Saturday, 08 February 2014 07:48 PM

Scores on the doors ladies and gents - we're a very confident bunch this weekend with everyone predicting a home win. I remain the only person to get all the results right...yet I am not top - who made these daft rules up! 1 point for the correct result, three for the correct score.

Match Report & Analysis: Sunderland 0-2 Hull City

by Connor Quigley Saturday, 08 February 2014 07:47 PM

Optimism was flying around the Stadium of Light as if it was hugging us tightly and promising to never let us go. After beating Newcastle 3-0 again away from home it seemed as if nothing could stop us on our march to safety and what better way to top of the past couple of weeks than to stick it to Steve Bruce and his constant commentary on 10th place finishing. I predicted 3-1 for this and I predicted Jozy Altidore to score too. I predicted Altidore to score a couple...I need to stop predicting things.

Sunderland Vs Hull City: Opposition Analysis

If you were given a choice of two teams to remedy a relatively poor (league) home form, excluding the Mags and Manchester City of course, the smart answer would be Stoke City and tomorrow’s opponent’s Hull City. Like the Potters, they have managed just five points away from home out of a possible 36. So, this should be a walk in the park, right? Hmm...

Top Four Former Players for Both Sunderland & Hull City

by GMac88 Friday, 07 February 2014 12:37 PM

Now, I did aim for five former players because it’s a much nicer number. However, there isn’t exactly a wealth of quality to choose from. There is no way I’m advocating ‘the Curse of Kilbane’ or Michael Bridges being part of a ‘best of list’. So, here are our top four players who have represented both Sunderland and Hull City…if I’ve missed anyone who was actually good – please say so!

Do they Sell Cheesy Chips on Wembley Way?

After a surprising absence of pre derby nerves in the build up to the match, they kicked in on Friday. I ended up watching the Di Canio derby again hoping that this year could match the result. Last year was good, but this year was better.

Newcastle United Vs Sunderland: Win, Lose or Draw?

by GMac88 Saturday, 01 February 2014 12:38 PM

Well, we did alright against Stoke! Michael even predicted the scorecast but unfortunately the dog ate his betting slip…shame. Martin managed to pull out a cheeky 1-0er too and leads the way. Anyway, round 3, three points for the correct score and one point for the correct result. No prizes for guessing which score line is the most popular in the We Are Wearside camp…

Opposition Analysis: Newcastle United Vs Sunderland

Can you remember a better fortnight being a Sunderland fan? I’m not sure if I can. We’ve all cracked the odd joke that the result of this match doesn’t matter massively to us, but, we all know that’s a load of tosh. Imagine getting to Wembley, out of the relegation zone AND doing the double over the Mags? Ha way man, you couldn't write a better fortnight if you tried.

We're out of the bottom three! This calls for some player ratings...

This fixture generally follows some kind of rule or pattern and this match could be no different. Judging on recent goings on and general history, here are three things we should look out for in today’s huge match against Stoke.
