Do they Sell Cheesy Chips on Wembley Way?

by FulwellEnder Wednesday, 05 February 2014 11:51 AM

After a surprising absence of pre derby nerves in the build up to the match, they kicked in on Friday. I ended up watching the Di Canio derby again hoping that this year could match the result. Last year was good, but this year was better.

What a performance. Here is how we rated our heroic troops and who we (eventually) decided on for man of the match!

Newcastle United Vs Sunderland: Win, Lose or Draw?

Well, we did alright against Stoke! Michael even predicted the scorecast but unfortunately the dog ate his betting slip…shame. Martin managed to pull out a cheeky 1-0er too and leads the way. Anyway, round 3, three points for the correct score and one point for the correct result. No prizes for guessing which score line is the most popular in the We Are Wearside camp…

Can you remember a better fortnight being a Sunderland fan? I’m not sure if I can. We’ve all cracked the odd joke that the result of this match doesn’t matter massively to us, but, we all know that’s a load of tosh. Imagine getting to Wembley, out of the relegation zone AND doing the double over the Mags? Ha way man, you couldn't write a better fortnight if you tried.

This fixture generally follows some kind of rule or pattern and this match could be no different. Judging on recent goings on and general history, here are three things we should look out for in today’s huge match against Stoke.

Back it is to the Premier League and that means back to our rather pointless but intriguing (for us at least!) predictions. As usual, three points for the correct score and one for the correct result! Feel free to join in...(comments bit at the bottom...nudge nudge).

Ah, that sweet feeling of success. Why, I barely knew you existed. Yet, here you are, filling me unprecedented confidence for the foreseeable future. Here, as we claw our way through the mist of Wembley delirium, we have yet another perfect opportunity to climb the league table and out of the relegation zone. Perhaps this is more perfect than those opportunities we failed to grasp.

Player Ratings: Sunderland 1-0 Kidderminster

Definitely a match that most involved (and watched) will swiftly forget. As far as player performances go there was nothing huge to shout about except for two encouraging debuts and a goal for Charis Mavrias. We’re in the hat and, as we all know, that is all that matters in cup competitions! Here we go though...

Dont Forget the FA Cup - Sunderland Vs Kiddy

by GMac88 Saturday, 25 January 2014 11:21 AM

I don’t know about you, but I am still suffering from an almighty emotional hangover after one of the greatest nights to be a Sunderland supporter there has been for a long, long, long, long time. However distracted we may be from our date with destiny at Wembley in little over a month’s time, there are still the pressing matters of Premier League survival and potentially a second cup run to look forward to. The FA Cup returns as Kidderminster Harriers stand in our way of a 5th round berth.
