Performance under the hood of the new Vantage Roadster

Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from AMG, the Vantage Roadster delivers 665 horsepower and a generous 800 Nm of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an electronic rear differential, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Its top speed reaches 202 mph, putting it in direct competition with icons like the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet and the Ferrari Roma. But there’s more. Aston Martin has engineered the convertible version to retain its dynamic prowess. Typically, removing the roof compromises a car’s rigidity. Not here: the aluminum structure has been reinforced, adaptive Bilstein DTX dampers have been installed, and weight distribution has been optimized to achieve near-perfect balance. These enhancements ensure the Roadster maintains impressive torsional rigidity, critical for uncompromised sporty driving.

A design that commands attention

Visually, the Vantage Roadster exudes Aston Martin’s signature British charm. Its widened grille, 21-inch wheels, and aggressive rear diffuser immediately catch the eye. The soft-top roof deploys in just 6.8 seconds, even at speeds of up to 31 mph. Thanks to an ingenious “Z” folding mechanism, it is both lightweight and discreet, adding only 132 lbs to the car compared to the coupe—significantly less than the typical 220+ lbs increase seen in most convertibles. Three new colors join the palette: Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire (a matte variant), and Bronze Flare. The roof can also be customized in black, red, blue, or a black-and-silver combination, further enhancing the model’s exclusivity. Inside, the cabin merges cutting-edge technology with craftsmanship, featuring high-resolution 10.25-inch screens and finely crafted physical controls.

An Aston Martin philosophy focused on the future

Rest assured, the automaker has not forgotten its DNA. The Vantage Roadster stays true to the spirit of British sports cars while incorporating modern technologies. For instance, its next-generation infotainment system, introduced on the DB12, provides online connectivity and advanced touch-screen functionality. This Vantage Roadster is part of Aston Martin’s broader strategy to elevate its brand under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll. Since his arrival, Aston Martin’s entire lineup has undergone a significant modernization—something the brand desperately needed. With a starting price of around $205,900, which is about $40,000 less than its competitors, this model targets clients seeking the performance of a sports car and the refinement of a comfortable GT. For Aston Martin, this isn’t just a car; it’s a bold statement to German and Italian manufacturers.
