BMW has just unveiled the M3 CS Touring, an even sharper version of its sporty wagon.
More powerful, lighter, and more aggressive, it promises to combine the practicality of a family car with the performance of a true track machine. So, can you picture yourself dropping the kids off at school in this five-door beast?

An impressive power boost on the M3 Touring CS
If the standard M3 Touring was already a benchmark among sporty wagons, this CS version pushes the limits even further. CS stands for Competition Sport at BMW, meaning an even more performance-focused version from the M division. BMW has increased the turbo pressure of its 3.0L inline-six, boosting power to 550 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque—more than a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the most track-focused Porsche! The result? A 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph with the M Driver’s Package. Definitely fast enough for the school run… This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a configurable all-wheel-drive system that even allows for rear-wheel drive mode for drifting enthusiasts. In other words, this wagon can rival supercars while still taking the family on a weekend getaway.
A wagon built for the track but not only
The 2025 M3 CS Touring isn’t just about more power. BMW has extensively reworked the chassis and aerodynamics to make it an even sharper machine. The suspension has been stiffened, reinforcement bars have been added for increased rigidity, and the braking system has been upgraded, with carbon-ceramic discs available as an option. To reduce weight, BMW has used carbon fiber extensively—on the hood, mirrors, rear diffuser, and lightweight bucket seats—shedding 33 lbs in total. As for the design, there’s no missing it with its yellow motorsport-inspired headlights and a larger front grille. This M3 CS Touring clearly isn’t here just to blend in.
Limited edition so… a hefty price tag
As an exclusive model, BMW doesn’t plan to flood the market with this CS version. Deliveries will start in March 2025, but you’ll have to be quick (and wealthy) to get one. The announced price is about $170,000, a significant jump from the $130,000 price tag of the standard M3 Touring but still less expensive than equivalent supercars in terms of performance. On top of that, in some European countries, an environmental tax can add up to $73,000. A steep price, but one that likely won’t deter passionate enthusiasts willing to spend a small fortune to own one of the most exciting high-performance wagons on the market.
This article explores the features of the BMW M3 CS Touring, a wagon that pushes the boundaries of performance with a more powerful engine, a sharpened chassis, and a limited production run. Designed for thrill-seekers, it combines extreme performance with practicality, all while carrying a price tag worthy of a supercar.
