Driving a hypercar on a racetrack is a dream for many enthusiasts. But when it’s a Pagani Huayra R, and you come close to crashing it into a barrier… that dream can quickly turn into a nightmare.
During an event organized by Paíto Motors, a driver recently tried to tame his beast on the Interlagos circuit in Brazil. And it was a close call before the session nearly turned into a nightmare. A single mistake was enough for the car to lose control and barely avoid the safety rail.

What happened with this Pagani?
The Pagani Huayra R is a true race car, not a civilized hypercar with a few track-oriented gadgets. With its extreme aerodynamics and screaming V12, it requires real expertise to be tamed. This spin at Interlagos is proof of that: the owner may have misjudged his corner entry by downshifting too late, which could have unsettled the rear of the car. Add to that potentially cold or even worn tires, and the punishment is immediate. A lesson every track enthusiast should keep in mind…
The Huayra R is built for pure performance
Under the hood, the Huayra R houses a naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 developed by HWA AG, a well-known name in motorsports. This engine produces 850 hp and revs up to 8,250 rpm—a madness for a track car. It’s paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox designed to withstand intense sessions. Pagani even planned for maintenance intervals every 10,000 km (6,215 miles), a testament to the car’s durability, as such mileage is nearly unthinkable for a standard race car without mechanical failure. But all this power and technology serve just one purpose: pure track performance. And like any race car, if you don’t respect its rules, it can become uncontrollable. Just look at the two F40s that crashed in January 2025.
A jewel as beautiful as it is formidable
Beyond its impressive mechanics, the Huayra R is a rolling work of art. This particular model features a stunning green lacquer directly integrated into the carbon fiber. Its bronze and red accents, along with its number 19, make it a true track weapon. Every element of its design is meant to maximize aerodynamic downforce, including a massive rear wing and redesigned air intakes to optimize brake cooling. The result? A car capable of generating 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs) of downforce at 199 mph. Yet it weighs only 2,315 lbs dry! Pagani produced just 30 examples of this monster, each priced at over $3 million after taxes. That price tag includes an exclusive program allowing owners to drive on the world’s most prestigious circuits under the supervision of the Pagani team. If you ask me, just like Ferrari’s XX and Corse Clienti programs, this is the ULTIMATE automotive experience.
This article explores how a Pagani Huayra R nearly suffered a serious crash on the Interlagos circuit in Brazil. Despite its status as an exceptional hypercar, it remains a demanding and unforgiving machine. With its race-derived V12, extreme aerodynamics, and razor-sharp responsiveness, it serves as a reminder that some cars are not meant for just anyone. A single mistake can be costly, and this owner got a taste of it… luckily, without damage this time.
